A THOUGHT FOR TODAY. Seek to understand, then be understood. I wonder how much better our world would be if we chose to take the time to understand someone’s perspective before rushing to conclusions and judgement. I’m so guilty of that many times over. If I’m honest, it’s simpler easier to live in the world of assumptions and stereotypes because it’s convenient and doesn’t require much personal effort. However what if we resolved to understand each other before casting judgement? What if we aimed for more understanding and less misunderstandings? A wise person once said “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in expressing their opinion”. Here is to better listening in 2019 and helping take out the “mis” in misunderstood!
